Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, was raised in Wellington) is the name of a Canadian actress from Canada. Paquin was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Wellington and first made her acting debut as Flora McGrath when she played the character of Flora McGrath in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 years old for Best Actress Supporting Actress. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin was born on July 24 the 24th of July, 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. She was cast as Flora McGrath the daughter of the mute Scottish pianist who, in the middle of 19th century, moves into New Zealand for an arranged wedding when she answered an audition open to all; she was nine years old. She had little previous experience as an actor. As a teenager her family left Canada to the United States. Paquin was Jane Eyre's title character as a teen in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (2000) as well as the lead role in Fly Away Home (2000). Paquin was the character Frankie Addams as a child in the TV film adaptation Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin played Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's 1997 movie Amistad. The role she played was for teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). Also, she was the character of the teenage groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
