Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist as well as a businesswoman. She is the co-founder and the CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the writer of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington has been a journalist, TV personality an author, philanthropist on television and television for a decade. She also is the owner of The Huffington Post, an free-of-cost online newsmagazine. Originating from Greece she moved to England at the age of 16 and graduated at the age of 16 from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. When she was 21, she was president of the renowned debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student in the history of Cambridge University to be elected. Then she became a conservative syndicated writer after graduation and when The Huffington Post launched a several years later, she developed an online platform to voice opinions that included criticisms about political events. Her site was able to bring in many prominent contributors to share their perspectives on culture as well as politics. Arianna was famous when she announced in 2003 that she would run as an Independent Candidate in the California Recall Election, to succeed Governor Davis. Aside from that she was also the director of the Detroit Project for efficient vehicles that use less fuel. Forbes identified her as being the 12th most influential woman in the media industry in 2009 and Guardian also included her on the Top 100 Media List during the same year. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post and made her president of the media division, which contained many existing AOL products, such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Her parents were Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos who was a management advisor and journalist. Even though she was in a close relation to her parents, it was their bond which helped mold her. While in her formative times, she demonstrated the qualities of a leader for which are still in high demand. When she turned 16 she moved to the United Kingdom to pursue her studies. She enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. In her college years she was part of the Cambridge Union debating group where she was elected the first female president and only foreign president. In 1972, she graduated with master's degrees in Economics. In the years following the graduation ceremony, she became an anchor on television and a columnist. Also, she appeared on the show Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books taking editorial help from him.
