Dolly Parton was born on January 19, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn. She lived alongside 12 other kids. Her vivid imagination helped her escape from life's harsh reality. life. Before she was able to write or read, she began to compose her own music. The first time she picked up a guitar was when she was just 8 years old and began singing on an Knoxville Tenn radio station at age 11. Gold Band Records is a tiny, independent label. Even though she was still studying, she already made a name of herself in the local music scene. But her dream was to be able to play on a bigger size. When she was graduating in 1964, she moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her first two charting albums for Monument Records. Porter Wagoner began looking for female singers to join his TV show syndicated by a network at about the exact time. Parton was a part of the Grand Ole Opry 1969 after contracting to RCA Records. She left Wagoner's show, however, in 1974 due to her solo albums such as Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene exceeded the sales of their joint albums. Parton wrote "I Will Always Love You" to Wagoner soon after their split. The track hit number. The first time it made it to number 1 was in 1974.
