Lucy Liu was born in America. Liu is an American actress, a singer as well as a voice actress. She is a beautiful and knowledgeable actress she serves as an inspiration for numerous Asian actors who wish to make it big in Hollywood. After a series of appearances in popular TV series her name was a household name for her role on the Ally McBeal legal comedy where she portrayed Ling Woo. Her new-found fame was translated into roles that were filmed on the large screen, in Shanghai Noon, Charlie's Angels and several other films. Then, she gave an her best performance in Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill Volume 1 as Japanese criminal O Ren Ishii. Also, she portrayed leading characters in failed box office films such as Rise: Blood Hunter. After that, she started to sing prominent characters for animation films, such as Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason, in Cashmere Mafia and other small screen parts, did not achieve any success. Southland's critically acclaimed police series, Southland and a recurring part in the show helped Liu establish herself her status as a well-known actress.
